Could you step up and be the 2019 President's Assistant (Admin Director) for JCI UK?
Posted By admin |13 Aug 2018
This time we focus on the key role of the President’s Assistant (Admin Director), part of the 2019 National Team for JCI UK.
The first thing to say is “fear not, this role does not involve fetching coffee, picking up dry cleaning or buying my mum’s birthday card when I’m National President” jokes Mark Smith, 2018 Deputy National President.
This is actually one of the key roles on the National Board and as the name suggests, needs to work extremely closely with the National President to assist with a wide range of administrative duties and helping to organise the President's workload at times. This role would particularly suit somebody who like to "cross all the T's" and "dot all the I's" with a knack for attention to detail!
As well as making sure that National Board meetings and National Council meetings are organised and arranged, The President's Assistant is responsible for leading on the JCI UK National Awards program; this recognises the talents and achievements of local chambers and members which then get presented at National Convention in November.
Ten Outstanding Young People (TOYP) Project Director
A key part to the President's Assistant role in 2019 will be to act as the TOYP AwardsNational Project Director. For several years, JCI UK has successfully run these national awards to help shout about the great things young people have done. What we would like to do in 2019 is to build on this success and further develop the Awards, encouraging chambers on a local level to run their own schemes that will then feed into the national awards. There are so many examples of amazing stories out there that we want to celebrate and share!
Could you step up?
Find out more about by reading the 2019 President's Assistant (Admin Director) Role.
If you wish to stand, please complete the intention to stand template for 2019 – this asks for the reasons you want to stand, what experience you have and the ideas you have for the role. You then need to get a JCI Chamber to propose you and another to second you – this would usually by the President of the proposing or seconding Chamber. Then e-mail this to Vicky Biggs, 2018 Admin Director at Vicky.biggs@jciuk.org.uk and also myself mark.smith@jciuk.org.uk at the latest, by 8pm on 17th August 2018. If more than one person stands for a particular role, we will let you know in case you wish to prepare an election campaign. National Board roles will then be voted on at the JCI UK Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15th September.
