‘The Cloud’ has been around for a long time. Developed by academics originally to harness the power of multiple computers, these days we can’t escape from it. Advances in technology now mean that we can use the same ideas in everyday life. There are countless ways in which we’re using ‘the cloud’, from email, Facebook and Twitter to phone apps and cardless payments and uses for the technology are growing daily. David Jones introduced a world of cloud techniques and applications which could save us time and money.
David discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the technology along with the importance of finding a reliable provider of services. Where are ther servers? Are they secure, or (as he has witnessed), are they just held in somebody’s spare bedroom?
Implementation cases are seemingly endless now, from banking to accounting and online office software. We can now access our information almost anywhere through mobile phones, tablets, laptops and PCs worldwide. It is truly a huge opportunity for businesses of all sizes.
