It’s already Spring and I’ve seen some fantastic energy and commitment from members across the UK and have exciting news to share following the visit we had from the JCI World President Roland Kwemain on 27-30 January. A key message from President Roland is the ‘Impact of One’ and how we all play an important part in how we can make an impact on our society and the lives of those around us.
JCI is a platform for you to make an impact. All change starts with the impact of one. What do you believe in? Where are you going? Have you made an impact lately?
This visit included meetings with the Commonwealth Secretariat, British Council, London Chamber of Commerce and Baroness Lola Young as well as a really great session with members and the JCI London Annual Dinner in the House of Lords. I’m particularly proud of how impressed Secretary General Sharma of the Commonwealth was by the work of JCI members and how we strive in our own time to improve things in our local society and further afield. We are now working with the Commonwealth to establish an ongoing partnership and explore opportunities to work together in areas of mutual interest.
I also have also had the opportunity to attend the National President’s Weekend in Riga with some members of National Board and was proud to support Solveig as she shared the success of JCI London’s Entrepreneurial Academy and was recognised as giving the Best Presentation. JCI Monaco have just launched their academy based on the London concept. It’s great that we are sharing best practice! I hope to see many of you at Presidents Day in Belfast and at European Conference in Aarhus, Denmark!
In the meantime – be active, take action and make an impact!
