As BIADS is our nominated charity of the year we have recently been supporting them by hosting The Great BIADS Bake Off and attending the Annual Celebration Walk. 

We hosted The Great BIADS Bake Off on Sunday 7^th June with a stall at Barnsley market to sell baked goods. The bakes all had a birthday theme to celebrate BIADS 5^th birthday and all proceeds went to BIADS. 

Congratulations to Social Director, Gemma Fletcher, who was announced as Star Baker and Deputy President, Jo Mackfall, who was the runner up. They will both go on to represent Barnsley at the JCI Yorkshire Conference Bake Off in October. 

We would like to thank 'Mary and Mary' (a.k.a Margaret and Jacky from BIADS) for judging and everyone who visited the stall! We raised £100 at the bake off.

We further supported BIADS on Sunday 14^th June at the BIADS Annual Celebration Walk around Wosborough County Mill and Park. The walk was in celebration of their 5^th birthday and to celebrate the lives of people who are or have been affected by dementia.

JCI Barnsley 2015 Community Director, Kathryn Brookes, who organised the JCI events, said; "It was fantastic to see so much support and generosity towards BIADS from the people of Barnsley at both the market stall and celebration walk. BIADS is a wonderful charity offering so much to families affected by dementia. I'm really pleased we can hold and attend events like these to raise much needed funds for the charity. With further events planned for later in the year, we're hoping to raise even more funds and awareness for the work they do."
