On your marks, get set, BAKE!
Viewers of BBC1's 'The Great British Bake-Off' will be only too familiar with the madcap antics of hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc spurring the contestants onto 'show-stopping' glory each week. Well, if you enjoy baking and would like the chance to show off your culinary creations to the hungry folks of Barnsley then we have just the event for you!
On Sunday 26th October, JCI Barnsley are taking part in the 'Great Barnsley Bake-Off' to raise funds for Barnsley Hospital Charity and would like to invite you to sign up and show off your best baking skills depicting the theme 'Autumn'. You can be as crazy and as inventive as you like as long as the seasonal theme comes through in some way, e.g. traditional Autumn celebrations like Halloween and Bonfire Night, seasonal fruits or flavours, 'warm' colours etc. - the choice is yours!
Cakes and bakes will be judged on appearance, texture and taste by two specially-selected judges (yeah, I bet there'll be a lot of arm-twisting needed for that role!), with the winner going forward to the final of Barnsley Hospital Charity's 'Great Barnsley Bake-Off' taking place next summer. All entries will be sold at 'Bake Sales' to raise funds in aid of the charity.
