Member of the Month - Kathryn Haines (JCI Southampton)
Our member of the month for February is Kathryn Haines, Deputy President of JCI Southampton. Kathryn was nominated by Local President, Célestine Onomo, who said:
"I would like to nominate Kathryn Haines for stepping up for her chamber when we needed her the most. Kathryn decided a few months back to take a step back from the organisation and focus on some personal goals for the year before returning to the JCI Southampton board in 2017. I reached out to Kathryn a few weeks back to explain the need for an experienced member within the team and for extra support in my role as President.
The JCI values are about brotherhood and service to humanity. To help others, sometimes you just need to start at the lowest level and Kathryn showed an invaluable support to me by stepping up to one of the key roles to elevate the profile and the level of knowledge of the chamber. Despite moving to another job in a few weeks and getting married in less than 6 months, her passion for the organisation and the links and relationships she has built were strong. This year is about choosing extraordinary, she made the choice to be an active member of JCI Southampton despite facing a lot of changes in her life and her choice will affect us in the most positive way and on a long term basis."
JCI UK's strength is it's amazing members and we are celebrating their fantastic contribution to the organisation every month. Each winner receives £50 off the price of National Convention in November. If you'd like to nominate a member who has gone above and beyond, please contact National President, Sarah Beckwith: sarah.beckwith@jciuk.org.uk
