JCI London presents....One Million Mentors
Would you like to use your knowledge and experience to help a young person in need? Why not become a mentor! As an organisation that believe in members using their potential create a positive impact, JCI London are pleased to be working with One Million Mentors, a project to provide high quality mentoring to young people in communities across the UK. Their mission is "To transform the process of mentoring by training, recruit and connect a million mentors to a million young people in order to increase youth employability, support social action and help break down social barriers".  With a prolific base established in Greater Manchester and the West Midlands, we are very excited to be part of the scheme's  expansion into London.     Our Business & Partnerships Director Sadia Alam who has been coordinating this shares her thoughts:
"Now more than ever is the time to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in our community.  This is why I am extremely impressed with 1MM, which uniquely offers online training for mentors to address the skills gap and improve social cohesion. It's a simple process that matches you up with a mentee who will benefit from your experiences. What better way to give back to our community, by spending 1 hour a month with your mentor, and we may even learn something ourselves. 1MM is expanding its program in London, and I encourage all JCI members to get behind this fantastic organisation to discover the 'Power of Mentoring'!"
If you would like to be involved in this amazing opportunity please sign up and create a profile here by Monday 10th August at the latest so you can get started. After completing your profile, One Million Mentors will advise on your options of mentees locally to you. Once you have been matched with a mentee, you will have a dashboard to chart the relationship’s progress. We will guide you through the relationship and signpost you to further resources. If you have any further questions on the process please feel free to contact Sadia at  sadia.alam@jcilondon.org.uk    We can't wait to hear your stories!
