We’ve already had an amazing start to the year, and can’t quite believe it’s March already.
As you’re hopefully aware 2019 is a big year for the chamber. Why you might ask? Well it’s our 60th Anniversary!
We wanted to making sure it would be a memorable one by challenging ourselves to 60 Events in our 60th Year - #60for60.
The idea for 60 events in our 60th year came to me at the 2018 JCI UK AGM, there’s definitely something about being in a room full of passionate JCI members that makes you want to think big!
#60for60 is really exciting for me as I think it’s a great way to put on a wide variety of events that our members are able to attend, enjoy and learn from. When your membership is already only £10 a month, having an average of 5 events a month to attend seems like a pretty good deal for me!
As well as our usual monthly social and training events, we’re continuing our ‘award winning’ monthly Who do Uno? Meetup’s on the last Tuesday of each month. This year we’re also trying our a variety of different projects and events including starting a chamber quiz team, attending regular parkruns and even setting up a book club. And we’ll have various community events and projects raising money for our charity of the year Southampton City Mission.
We’d also love to hear any suggestions you might have about events of projects you’d like to see, or even help to lead. If there something that you feel really passionate about, something you’d love to see/make happen or that you think would be fun for us to do!
