Sustainable Development Goals 2016 (UN)

This year saw the introduction of the UN's sustainable development goals (SDGs) as a follow on from the millennium development goals (MDGs) in the year 2000.  There are 17 SDGs in all which cover issues ranging from poverty, healthcare, quality education and gender equality.

At Inspiration Day this year we challenged attendees to vote for the SDG closest to their heart and which they would like the national organisation to support and base projects around this year.

After hearing feedback from all members that attended the day we saw two clear winners in the vote:

  • SDG No 1 - No poverty
  • SDG No 3 - Good Health and Well-Being

We will now be working hard to make sure that our activities throughout the year will fall inline with these choices.

If you have any ideas of projects that you would like us to look at on a national level please contact community director Katie Jackson.
