Secret Santa Appeal putting JCI Doncaster back on the map
Secret Santa Appeal putting JCI Doncaster back on the map
After a difficult year and the proposed cancellation of the annual Secret Santa Appeal community event, local business have rallied to keep it on track. JCI Doncaster have teamed up with Doncaster Junior Lawyers (DJL) to ensure that the appeal goes ahead and makes as much positive impact in the local community as it has in previous years.
Past President, Katie Ogley, said ‘I was so upset that we might have to cancel the appeal but the support we’ve had to keep it going is fantastic. Providing Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in our local community is obviously a cause that is very close to people’s hearts. We were still unable to man our usual staff at Lakeside Village so, this year, the appeal will be focused on more corporate donations than public. We have already teamed up with a number of organisations who are supporting the event and doing appeals in their workplace. We have also had a number of companies using their own websites to promote the event on our behalf. I cannot thank Doncaster Junior Lawyers enough for what they have done.’ Alistair Stokes, the Chair of DJL and Solicitor at Atherton Godfrey, said, “we are delighted to be working with Katie Ogley and JCI Doncaster. We hope the community will come together and help us bring Christmas to local children who have endured adversity this year”.
