Half way through the week and our series of interviews moves onto a Local Council Member: Michelle Bustos from JCI Portsmouth.

What is your role this year? 
Deputy President

What made you take on this particular role?
I went to the Deputy and Presidents training weekend in Southampton just to see what it was all about and half way through I agreed to be deputy president. I was really impressed with the training and how passionate everyone was.

Tell us what it's like to be on a local chamber's council team
Our chamber is very much in a developmental phase so we have focused a lot on growing our numbers. There is a lot of time spent on identifying what activities and development to offer and the best way to commnicate who we are to the young professionals of Portsmouth. We have all definitely learned a lot about social media!!

What do you enjoy most about being on the council?
We all get along really well and its always good to have people to bounce ideas off of! And we have fun together!

What do you consider to be the main benefits of JCI membership?
Meeting new people as Portsmouth is a tough place to meet people, getting involved in the community and continually learning something new about technology or management skills or about myself.
