JCI UK – Public Speaking Academy 12th May - 13th May 2018 Speaking publicly doesn’t come naturally to most people. However, it’s a powerful asset in business. Being able to stand in front of people, whether an auditorium, board meeting or presentation to pitch, it’s an essential to developing yourself or your business. Improving your skills in public speaking can only enhance your opportunities and we’re here to help you do that with our Public Speaking Academy. The goals for the academy is to support out delegates in taking their speaking skills to the next level, regardless of your current skill level. This is open to newbies, sort of there but not quite and confident but could do with brushing up a little. Over the course of two days, delegates will learn about:

• Owning the stage – charisma, body language and connection with your audience
• Storytelling – communicating your message and your values
• Writing an impactful speech – structure, language and clarity
• JCI competitions – tips for debating and extempore

Our trainers are experienced JCI members, senators and external experts. Each with their own style and experiences, they will ensure a holistic learning environment to suit the different personalities, strengths and ambitions of our delegates. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the weekend for participants to practice and receive constructive feedback. Due to wanting our delegates to get the best experience possible we only have 12 places available for the academy. This is open to JCI Member and non-members. The cost of the courses is £115 for JCI Members and £150 for non-members. This includes the following:

• Accommodation (based on sharing a twin room)
• Breakfast on the Sunday
• Lunch on Saturday and Sunday
• High-calibre training to take your public speaking further

JCI UK does not include travel in the cost of the ticket, however Personal Develop Director Cheryl Hill will happily support delegates with their travel plans. Who are the trainers? We have confirmed our trainers and details will be released in the next couple of weeks. What’s the timetable of the academy? The academy will start at on the Saturday 12^th May at 10am, and close at 4pm on Sunday 13^th May. The Saturday agenda will close at 5pm. We encourage delegates to get to know each other however, you aren’t tied to doing as part of the course from this point.
