JCI Birmingham takes on Bromsgrove Carnival for Help Harry Help Others

We are delighted to announce we have secured a stall on Saturday 29th June in Sanders Park, Bromsgrove to sell Help Harry Help Others bracelets as part of our drive to raise awareness and funds for our chosen charity.Events » Community projects » DJAwardLogo-Cropped-Small.jpg

In 2012 JCI UK received the Queens Jubilee Award for volunteering and events like this are our way of giving something back to the local community and volunteering our services for charities.

We are looking for members and non members to help us staff our stall on the Saturday, from approx 10am to 6pm so anyone interested please email us to jcibirmingham@hotmail.co.uk We will try to co-ordinate/share transportation for those wanting to volunteer.

What is Bromsgrove Carnival?

Bromsgrove's popular annual event is organised by a non-profit Committee of local people. The Carnival's main purpose is to stage a free event for the people of Bromsgrove and raise money for local good causes. The main charity to benefit is the League of Friends at the local Princess of Wales hospital. The team works to stage the biggest free event in the town including a Parade, hours of live music and performance and a traditional funfair.

The carnival fun kicked off at midday with the procession snaking through the town to Sanders Park which host live music, charity stalls, trade stalls, funfair, car displays, dog shows, dancing, and sports events.

The procession involved a Samba band and over 20 stunning floats created on nothing but shopping trolleys donated by Co-op. Entrants for this years procession included the Someone at the door samba band, The Boys Brigade, The Bromsgrove Standard, The Basement Project, and Pear Tree Children's centre, as well as many others.
