What do you get if you combine 33 people, a train, alcohol, a quiz and a food festival? The JCI Barnsley annual pub crawl!
What does it involve? Getting on the train at Barnsley, hopping off at various pubs on the train line between Barnsley and Huddersfield, a round of a quiz at each pub and then ending up in Huddersfield for dinner at the food festival.
This is my second year taking part in the pub crawl and as Immediate Past President for JCI Barnsley it was always going to be in my social calendar.
The weather wasn't as warm as last year but it stayed dry which was the main thing. We looked quite a sight at each train station, all 33 of us waiting for the trains!
The quiz which included a round on films, music, geography and a JCI round was taxing for most of us!!!
The food festival in Huddersfield didn't disappoint us, providing so many sweet and savoury choices even the fussiest of eaters were catered for. My choice was a Springbok burger followed by Yummy Yorkshire Fudge brownie ice cream sundae! Photo's below to make you drool.
After a long 10 hours of hopping on and off trains, drinking, eating and catching up with friends I was ready to retire to bed when we arrived back into Barnsley at about 11pm.
Fun was had by all and I know everyone will be planning to make next years event.
