On Saturday 10th May Ian and I were guests of Merlin Software at the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber Presidents Ball at Magna. This years President, Owen Gleadall had a Bond themed dinner. We were greeted by Owen and some 'Bond girls'. The dinner of over 500 guests was 3 courses and was accompanied with performances by Gillian Banjs Theatre School of songs and dancers from the Bond films. The highlight being a girl twisting in ribbon and being suspended from the ceiling.

The evening also included a charity auction which included James bond memorabilia, a picture signed by all James Bond, a tombola, a guess the name of the teddy bear all raising money for the Presidents Foundation which supports a number of local charities. A total of £6,500 was raised on the night. Once the formalities ended the casino opening and guests could try their luck at roulette and blackjack.

Our member Kirsty Arnold, who works for the chamber was involved with organising the event. Well done Kirsty you've done a sterling job!

Our fellow JCI Rotherham members, Charlie and Charlotte were also there, and they had their own sponsored cardboard cut out of Nik Nack, a Bond villain!
