Are you nervous about speaking in Public?
Does the idea of standing up in front of a room of strangers fill you with terror?
Would you like to learn some techniques to improve your public speaking?
If you answer yes to any of the above questions then you should attend our Public Speaking Academy, which is back for its third year in 2016 and again is being led by our amazing National President, Sarah Beckwith.
The aim of the academy is to help all delegates to take their speaking skills to the next level, no matter what the starting point. Over two days, delegates will learn about:
• Owning the stage – charisma, body language and connection with your audience
• Storytelling – communicating your message and your values
• Writing an impactful speech – structure, language and clarity
• JCI competitions – tips for debating and extempore
Our trainers are experienced JCI members, senators and external experts. Each with their own style and experiences, they will ensure a holistic learning environment to suit the different personalities, strengths and ambitions of our delegates. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the weekend for participants to practice and receive constructive feedback. A supportive and fun atmosphere is guaranteed!
Following the success of last year’s event, we are anticipating high demand for this event. Tickets are limited to 12 and available only to JCI members. The cost of the course (including lunch both days) is £70. To register sign up here
