JCI and JCI UK are heavily involved in fighting poverty, hunger and promoting the SDGs. To be able to tackle the biggest challenges of our time and support the attainment of the SDGs, JCI UK members should have a clear and correct understanding of the world, including extreme poverty and differences between countries.
“Factfulness: Ten reasons we’re wrong about the world–and why things are better than you think” is a book by Anna Rosling Rönnlund, Hans Rosling, and Ola Rosling, founders of Gapminder. In this book, they suggest the vast majority of human beings are wrong about the state of the world. Bill Gates has referred to it as “One of the most important books I’ve ever read―an indispensable guide to thinking clearly about the world.”
We’re organising a zoom discussion hosted by Executive Vice President (EVP) for Europe Marion to chat through the themes of the book and their relevance to JCI and the wider world.
You’ll need to need to read the book in advance (if you’ve not done so already) and we’d encourage you to buy your book from a local bookstore if possible to support local businesses.
