Date & Time
6th May, 2021 – 6th May, 2021
07:00 PM – 08:30 PM
JCI Sheffield is delighted to hold a British Sign Language (BSL) taster event for Deaf Awareness Week. In this interactive session, we’ll learn the BSL alphabet and everyday greetings. We’ll also share resources for learning more about BSL and Deaf culture.
Modern-day BSL is used by over 120,000 adults and 20,000 children. The exciting and expressive language uses a mixture of hand signals, body language and lip pattern to communicate.
As well as being extremely rewarding, studying BSL can boost your communication and memory skills. Learning even a few phrases in BSL can help break down language barriers and make your events more inclusive. JCI members and non-members welcome.
