JCI UK is the organisation that develops, promotes and celebrates the achievements of young leaders across our nation and in our local communities.
Meet Luke Harkin from JCI Derry (PO)...
'As a new provisional organisation chamber within JCI UK, JCI Derry is full steam ahead with providing development opportunities for our members.
Luke has been instrumental in the development of our Derry chamber growing and developing within our local community. He took over the management and development of our website and creates all our social media images. He liaises with design and print companies for any tickets, fliers and banners that we need for projects.
Luke has only been a member for six months and he is already an integral part of the team. He organised a fundraising hike and summer bbq last weekend. Even though we were rained off Luke quickly changed plans and had us moving and kept us entertained all afternoon. He thought about every aspect of the event, right down to the presentation of award cups. Luke is a gentleman and always goes the extra mile making sure everyone is ok and that everything is planned to perfection. He has worked extremely hard in this past six months, going above and beyond in every project. He is a leader in the making and through JCI we believe that through the right development we hope for him to be leading our chamber in the future.' - Catriona Donnelly, Local President JCI Derry (PO)
'On a recent visit to JCI Derry (PO), it was a pleasure to meet Luke. As a relatively new member to the chamber, it was great to hear about the activities he has been doing within the chamber and the goals he wishes to achieve in the future. JCI brings so many personal development opportunities but to really take advantage and see the benefits, you have to recognise these and really grab them with both hands. Luke is a member who is looking to take every opportunity that presents itself and I very much look forward to him progressing through JCI in the future - he's certainly one to watch' Michael Steel, JCI UK National President
