Here's some useful links relating to Gmail which is used by JCI for @jcichamber.org.uk email addresses such as forename.surname@jciuk.org.uk.   All Gmail email addresses are accessible via the standard Google Gmail login - https://mail.google.com and can be added to a phone / tablet.

Your chamber can also have email addresses such as info@ or hello@ where incoming email is forwarded to a group of people.

Adding a JCI email address to your phone or tablet

Google provides a useful tool to guide you through setting up your JCI email address on your phone or tablet.   It is recommended that you setup IMAP which allows you to download new email and kee the mail on the server.   The advantage of this is that you can have more than one device configured to access and retrieve your email and you can access your email via Gmail on the web.

Request JCI-branded email addresses for your chamber

JCI is a professional organisation and it is important for JCI chambers to use official JCI email addresses for its council team whereever possible.

The JCI UK Website Manager can setup official JCI email addresses for your chamber.   Please follow the instructions below to get your email addresses.

  1. Please form your council team before requesting email addresses.
  2. Download and complete the JCI Email Address spreadsheet with details of your council team.   The information required is:
    1. Email address (for example, firstname.lastname@jcilondon.org.uk)
    2. First name
    3. Last name
  3. Send the completed spreadsheet to the JCI UK Website Manager ensuring "Official JCI email address request" is in the subject of the email.
  4. The Website Manager will be in touch soon.

Request Google group email addresses for your chamber

Google groups allows JCI chambers to setup a set of standard email addresses which forward incoming email to a group of people.   JCI chambers use these groups for email addresses such as the following:

  1. info@
  2. contactus@
  3. getinvolved@
  4. nameOfSpecificProject@

You can request a group to be setup for your chamber.   Please follow the instructions below.

  1. Decide which email addresses you would like setting up for your chamber.
  2. Decide who in your council team should be in each group.
  3. Download and complete the JCI Email Groups spreadsheet with details of your groups.  The infomation required is:
    1. Email address (for example, info@jcisouthampton.org.uk)
    2. A list of email addresses for the group (for example, for @info you might want the Membership Director, President and Deputy President added to this group)
  4. Send the completed spreadsheet to the JCI UK Website Manager ensuring "JCI email group request" is in the subject of the email.
  5. The Website Manager will be in touch soon.
  6. Note:  We'd like to refrain from using emails such as president@ or marketing@ because these are too informal.
