In 2000, 189 nations made a promise to free people from extreme poverty and multiple deprivations. This pledge became the eight Millennium Development Goals to be achieved by 2015. In September 2010, the world recommitted itself to accelerate progress towards these goals.
In 2003, JCI made a promise to promote the Millennium Development Goals together with the UN. As a grass roots organisation with local chambers in more than 5,000 communities in 115 countries, JCI is a unique partner for the UN.
Here you can read more about the 8 Millennium Development Goals and how you can make a difference in your local community.
