JCI UK National Convention 2014 'Phoenix Tale'
|Venue:||London, Canary Wharf|
|Date:||14th Nov, 2014 to 16th Nov, 2014|
The National Convention is the highlight of the JCI UK calendar. This year it will be hosted by JCI London and JCI Canary Wharf and held for the first time in London's iconic Canary Wharf! The National Convention is a weekend where JCI members and non-members come together from all around the UK and world to train, socialise and celebrate with a true JCI spirit.
The Convention will kick off on Friday with an Official JCI Welcome from our President Kate Senter, followed by Keynote Speaker and the Public Speaking Competition. We will then reunite in the centre of Canary Wharf for a fantastic meal and social night out with entertainment in the form of our hilarious Extempore competition.
On Saturday, there will be a selection of training which you can attend throughout the day concluding with the popular Debating Competition Finals in the afternoon. Speakers include a chief executive, healthy living expert, financial advisor and life designer/success strategist. In the evening, our delegates will be suited and booted for the JCI UK Annual Black Tie Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony! Enjoy a welcome drink, three course meal with wine and cheer on your chamber during the awards ceremony, then celebrate the end of another fantastic JCI year into the night with fellow members.
We will end the Convention on Sunday with an inspirational training session and networking!
This year, we have adapted the theme of the Phoenix Tale which represent a story of self development and achieving greatness.
A powerful message, extracted from the Phoenix's journey where it re-emerges from its death as a stronger entity in pursuit to personal greatness, we can relate this story to several key factors of this National Convention
Canary Wharf and The Docklands - How this location was completely destroyed during World War II and its transformation to majestic buildings which overlooks the entire of London.
Junior Chamber International - The main message of JCI and how it empowers young professionals/entrepreneurs to make a positive change through the opportunities of self-development.
YOU - We all go through challenges in our lives and its how we deal with them that makes us stronger. 'What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger'.
