How to write a press release and get it published

People talk about JCI UK as the best kept secret but everyone tells you that you need to raise the profile of your local chamber. Why do they never print the photographs I send with my press releases? Find out what journalists are looking for, some hints and tips to compose the best photographs and how to get it published and we'll provide you with the toolkit you need to understand how the media works, what information they require and the best way to provide it to increase your column inch success rate!

Multi-media and interview skills
We live in a digital age where the pace is rapid. Much more information is going on the internet in a multi-media format and this session will give you some great tips on how to get the most out of online videos and audio clips. You'll even have the opportunity to learn and try our your interviewing skills in a safe environment, rather than being put on the spot by a journalist!

Brand guidelines, made easy
Our brand is really important and something we all need to work on and be guardians of. Not every local chamber has a marketing professional on their team and even if you do the international brand guidelines can be a bit daunting to apply to your marketing materials. This session aims to cover the essentials to creating a consistent brand for your local chamber and some top tips for applying this across all your marketing materials. How much depth we go into is up to you!

Stakeholder engagement and the full marketing mix
'Stakeholder engagement' is a real buzz word (or words!) at the moment - how are your stakeholders and how do you engage with them. We'll help you to identify your audience and help you to explore what marketing tools can be used to reach them and get them involved.

Twitter
To tweet or not to tweet, that is the question! Find out all about Twitter as an effective marketing tool and how it really can help raise the profile of you local chamber and be fun too! We can also discuss other social media outlets and advise on how to integrate them in your marketing plan.

JCI UK Website Training
Most local chambers now have the fantastic new look JCI UK website - but how does it all work? We'll give you an overview of how to navigate the back of house system and a chance to get your questions answered. We will cover creating and editing web pages, adding events, managing images, blogging and updating the homepage banners. This will be a very practical hands on session and the knowledge is quite universal for content management systems, so bring your laptops with you if you can.

Measuring your success!
So there is no point investing your time and money in marketing activities if you don't know what impact it has had, common sense right? You'd be surprised how many people say 'well that advert didn't work, we got no sales off the back of it.' How do you know? How have measured the results? Do you know how to measure your results? This session will give you an overview and some top tips on setting your objectives and measuring your success to save you time and money in the future.
