Are you joining for the JCI UK National Convention 25-27 November?
by Sofie Sandell on August 8, 2011 21:29
Make sure you are free 25-27 November and join other young professionals for a fun weekend in Sheffield for the JCI UK National Convention.
Last year the National Convention in London was a huge success. You can watch photos from the event here https://picasaweb.google.com/JCILondon
Sign up the JCI UK National Convention 2011 here
If you are joining you'll be able to participate in JCI UK public speaking championship, in the photo you see Sandra from JCI Sheffield participating 2010. She was representing JCI UK at a European level earlier this year at JCI European Conference.

Listen to inspiring speakers. In the photo we are listening to Richard Mullender who is an ex hostage negotiator.

Share your knowledge and learn from other JCI members.

Take part in the JCI UK debating championship (make sure to get your team together now and do some training)
Go to the national award dinner and collect your awards.

Party all night after the award dinner. Last year we were almost 200 people at the gala dinner and National Awards ceremony on the HMS President in London.

Today is the day!

Finally it's here! JCI UK welcomes members from the UK and several countries overseas to London. This weekend is packed with an inspiring program and on Saturday we will celebrate the year at a boat by the river! The theme is IMprove&ACT - Let's make an IMPACT!
As JCI members we know that "knowledge is the key to success". Read more about this topic in an article I read in Evening Standard the other day.
Have a great weekend!
JCI Southampton's Annual Gala Dinner in Hollywood style
by Sofie Sandell on November 19, 2010 17:15
Over 100 young professionals and entrepreneurs joined JCI Southampton at their Annual Gala Dinner last month.
With a reputation for being one of the biggest and best social events on the JCI UK calendar, JCI Southampton had a lot to live up to...and they succeeded. The food was excellent, the live band was awesome, and the party continued until late...
JCI members travelled from London and Portsmouth and members of JCI UK's National Board trekked all the way from the national council in Sheffield to be there on the night.
The event raised over £500 for the nominated local charity of the year, the Jubilee Sailing Trust.
Feedback from members has been fantastic, and JCI Southampton has opened up what JCI is to huge numbers of potential members, they showed them the JCI spirit!
The JCI Southampton council team worked together to bring on the event on the night. It was a huge success - entirely down to each of those people who gave their time to make it happen.
The only downside? Next year's event now has an even greater reputation to follow - can you afford not to be there?

JCI Manchester's membership rockets on eve of 2010 Young Talent Award
by Sofie Sandell on November 9, 2010 12:08
Press release: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Manchester has tripled its membership in just six months as it looks to celebrate this city's "immense entrepreneurial talent" through a new awards ceremony.
The organisation specialises in the personal development of young business people and professionals aged between 18 and 45 by holding networking, training and social events.
JCI Manchester - which was formerly the Manchester Junior Chamber of Commerce - was relaunched and rebranded in April by its new president, Debbie Rainford. Since then, its membership has rocketed to 60 with more than 500 business people joining its mailing list. The corporate membership of JCI Manchester has also increased from eight to 13.
The organisation is also hosting the inaugural '2010 Manchester Young Talent Awards' which have been established to recognise "outstanding individuals" exemplifying the best attributes of this city's young people.
Nominations are currently being invited for eight categories which include: entrepreneur/ innovator; business accomplishment; philanthropist of the year; environmental leadership; international impact; inspiring education; young professional of the year; and rising star award.
Mrs Rainford, who is a business litigation solicitor with Manchester law firm Ralli, said: "There is immense entrepreneurial talent across this city's public and private sectors and JCI Manchester is dedicated to fostering and promoting this in every way possible.
